Acceptance Letter: PO2 Eddie Zhao

Written by: Cadet Eddie Zhao |
Today is the Cadet online award ceremony! I got the Top uniform award and Top marksman award, which is an honour and a motivation for me. I have joined Cadet for four years, from the beginning of the ordinary cadet to today's PO2. the whole process can't be done without the help of all the officers and teammates.

I am very honoured to once again receive the Top marksman award for RCSCC 23. This is a great feedback for my shooting skills and a recognition of my efforts. I must thank my coach and the rest of the team for guiding me with care and creating a path for me to improve since I started shooting in 2017. I ended up taking five medals in the 2019 PEI Provincial Shooting Championships and won the Top marksman award for two consecutive seasons, 2019 and 2020.

For the Top uniform award, I myself think that I am a lucky person because I did not expect that I would be the winner of this award. I understand that hard work is the most real thing, but I have to admit that I got lucky. At the beginning, my uniform was not the best, and I was even warned by the training officer: "If you don't correct your uniform, you will be removed from the colour party". After that, I started to ask other teammates about ways to maintain my uniform. I used a table to press the crease line on my pants and burned shoe polish with a lighter to make my boots shine. In the end, I got a lot of praise from the officers.

I will continue to be the captain of the 23 Kent air rifle shooting/biathlon team. I will do my best to set an example of good uniform, eradicate bad behaviour in the corps, and lead the 23 Kent shooting/biathlon team to move forward with encouragement and success.
