Charlottetown Sea Cadets Sail Onboard Navy Ship

Charlottetown, PE. (May 2nd, 2022) - Cadets from Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps (RCSCC) 23 Kent sailed from Summerside to Charlottetown onboard HMCS Summerside. A Kingston-class coastal defence vessel of the Royal Canadian Navy, HMCS Summerside was happy to host eight members of Charlottetown’s sea cadet unit, RCSCC 23 Kent, as they sailed from Summerside to Charlottetown. The cadets departed Summerside early on Monday morning, and arrived in Charlottetown at around 4:30pm. Upon arrival, HMCS Summerside docked alongside fellow Kingston-class ship, HMCS Kingston. During their voyage, the cadets got to learn about many aspects of shipboard life, as well as participate in real-world, hands-on activities. While on board, the cadets received a full tour of the ship, including the bridge, engine control room, and diver’s workshop.
